PEZ Item No. 154 - “This is a bad ass polar bear!”
This week’s dispenser took a little more research than I normally give for these posts, usually because I have some sort of knowledge of what I’m talking about (yes, I know, there are a few sets I know nothing about, but I usually admit it and don’t bother doing much research to follow it up). ANYWAY, this is Ragnar Sturlusson (or Iofur Raknison for those reading the book trilogy HIS DARK MATERIALS) from the movie THE GOLDEN COMPASS. In the movie, he was voiced by Ian McShane. And, Wikipedia tells me that he ends up being a bad guy and gets defeated in the end (isn’t that how most stories usually go?).
This is the extent of my knowledge of this movie or book series. But, I kinda wanna see the movie now because this bear looks pretty badass! I want to dress more animals up with this helmet! My daughter’s guinea pig would look pretty sweet done up like this…just sayin’.
This movie definitely slid under my radar. I knew it was out there, but I didn’t pay much attention to it. But, it does sound like an interesting movie and I may check Netflix or Amazon Instant Video to see if they have it.
Another thing I neglected to mention about this is that this is the only one I have from this set. It was acquired from the local Goodwill store. My wife was donating some items and decided to look around. It’s awesome how sometimes taking the time to browse some places really pays off!
